arborvitae

arborvitae

With the applications of mold making and lost wax casting I reproduce her etheric forms into ones of everlasting permanence, that is, into metal. It is my way to breathe eternity into her ephemeral beauty.

Cast and oxidized sterling silver arborvitae branch with 18karat gold drop ear wires, and with 10.5-11mm round cultured freshwater pearls.2 3/8" from top to bottom.

When reproduced in silver, the fascinating, intricate detail that appears on each side of the branch looks like ornamental iron, much the same way that I saw this resemblance in the macro photograohy of Karl Blossfeldt, a pioneer of macro photography in the late 1800’s. Search Karl Blossfeldt/images to see his stunning images.
Its all in the details.

Intricate.

Simple.

Elegant.

$300.
